Solving the Mystery of Inverted Polarity on My PC

Introduction For weeks, I was dealing with a strange issue: my IEM measurements were showing inverted polarity on my PC (and it sounded like it), but everything seemed fine when I used my laptop. After countless tests and troubleshooting, I finally discovered the cause and the solution. This post breaks down the entire experience and how I figured it out. First Clues: The Inverted Polarity The problem started when I used my usual measurement setup: a 711 coupler, REW software, and a DAC/Amp connected to my PC. The results showed inverted polarity on almost all IEMs, which didn’t match reports from other users. However, when I ran the same test on my laptop using the exact same equipment and settings, the polarity was correct. This led me to suspect the issue was with my PC, not the IEMs or the DAC/Amp. Testing and Finding the Problem To rule out other variables, I ran additional tests: Connecting directly to the PC jack: I used the integrated audio output...

Reason for Inactivity

Hello everyone! I wanted to take a moment to explain my recent inactivity on the blog. There are two main reasons behind this: Lack of time . Lately, I have been busy with other matters and haven't been able to dedicate enough time to reviews. Technical issue with my PC . I've been trying to fix an issue with my setup, as it seems to be causing inverted polarity in my IEMs. Because of this, I will temporarily remove all comments related to inverted polarity in my reviews, as it may have been a problem with my PC rather than a manufacturing defect in the products. I discovered this issue by conducting measurements using the same setup on a laptop, where most of my IEMs showed the correct polarity. Interestingly, KZ models were the only ones that still showed inverted polarity, which many users have mentioned before. Over the next few weeks, I will focus on ensuring my PC has the cleanest possible power supply and will attempt to correct these results. If the problem persists des...

KZ Review (ZSN Pro, ZS10 Pro X, Castor Bass and D-Fi)

This review will be a bit different and much more concise since I’ll be talking about four different KZ models released in 2019, 2022, and 2023 respectively. This time, I won’t include technical specifications as they would take up much of the space. Why Did I Buy Them? ZSN Pro : My first IEM. I didn’t know what to expect, but it was one of the most popular models at the time. ZS10 Pro X : My second IEM. I still didn’t have specific expectations; I just wanted them to be better than my previous model. KZ Castor Bass : I was looking for a basshead signature and wanted to try the switches. KZ D-Fi : I was looking for a balanced or neutral sound signature and wanted to test the switches. Packaging, Build, and Design KZ’s packaging is very straightforward. It consists of a small box containing the IEMs, the cable, and ear tips in sizes S/M/L. For models with switches, they include an accessory to adjust them. In terms of design, I find all of them very appealing, but my favorites are the K...

I was intrigued by the “vibration driver.” Spoiler: disappointing. Additionally, the brand claimed it could deliver different sound modes depending on the activated switches, all tailored for multimedia formats like music, movies, and gaming. Packaging, Build, and Design The packaging is noteworthy, arriving in a rectangular box that opens upward. Inside, you’ll find the IEMs along with the cable and S/M/L e...
